Last year was marked by the war in Ukraine, parliamentary elections and the Easter coup, which is also noticeable among the nominated entries for Picture of the Year 2022.
The winners will be announced on March 16 at an award ceremony at Nalen in Stockholm.
Among the award winners are, among others, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) and S-leader Magdalena Andersson.
They award the prizes for "Picture of the Year" and "Photographer of the Year".
The Picture of the Year was instituted by the Press Photographers' Club in 1942.
