On February 12, Beijing time, the Fire Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government accepted a video interview with media reporters on the relevant situation of the rescue team of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's rescue team in Turkey.

Yu Wenyang, the commander of the rescue team of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, disclosed the details of the search and rescue at the scene.

  According to reports, on February 6, local time, a strong earthquake hit southern Turkey near the border with Syria, causing a large number of casualties in Turkey and Syria.

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government sent a rescue team of about 59 people to Turkey on the evening of February 8, Beijing time, to assist local search and rescue activities.

The rescue team arrived in the disaster area on the 10th local time.

On the 11th local time, the rescue team successfully rescued three survivors about 6 meters below the rubble during the search in Hatay Province, Turkey, the hardest-hit area of ​​the earthquake, and assisted in moving the injured away from the scene and sending them to ambulances.

  Yu Wenyang also said that he is very grateful to the frontline colleagues. Although the "golden 72 hours" have passed, they have not given up. They are still able to maintain morale and try their best to save the injured in the severe cold weather. As long as there is any opportunity, we will continue to do our best to search and rescue.

When asked whether he would choose to evacuate, Yu Wenyang said that the rescue team currently has no plan to evacuate.

He revealed that the materials brought by the rescue team are expected to last for about 7 days. If there is any shortage of materials in the future, the Fire Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will provide timely supplies.
