According to the organizer, in 2023, Hong Kong Island United volunteers actively participated in social emergency rescue and disaster relief, organized diverse community activities, carried out neighborhood home repairs and provided care and warmth services, and distributed hundreds of thousands of charity bags to grassroots communities throughout the year.
In support of the seventh District Council election, more than 7,500 volunteers carried out all-round publicity for the District Council election by setting up street stations and conducting home visits in various districts on Hong Kong Island, so that improving district governance can gain more public recognition and support.
Mai Meijuan said in her speech that since its establishment, the Hong Kong Island Federation has always upheld the spirit of patriotism and Hong Kong, actively paid attention to social and people's livelihood affairs, committed to promoting social welfare services, firmly supported the SAR government in its policy implementation, made suggestions and reflected public opinion, and was a solid partner of the SAR government. .
She mentioned that after the new district council took office, the improvement of the district governance system has been implemented.
The district council, the care team and the "three associations" in the region will use synergy to actively promote regional services and jointly achieve "high-level information is conveyed to the public, and low-level information is reported to the public."
Mai Meijuan hopes that the Hong Kong Island Federation will continue to support the SAR government, assist regional work and benefit citizens.
