According to the official measurement of the China Seismic Network, at 10:41 on February 11, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake occurred in Yuancheng District, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province (23.76 degrees north latitude, 114.64 degrees east longitude), with a focal depth of 11 kilometers.
The epicenter was located near Yuanxi Street, Yuancheng District, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province, 3 kilometers from the People's Government of Xingang Town, Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, 6 kilometers from the urban area of Yuancheng District, Heyuan City, 6 kilometers from the urban area of Heyuan City, and 157 kilometers from Guangzhou City.
The Guangdong Seismological Bureau analyzed that as of 11:54 on the 11th, a total of 70 aftershocks had occurred, with the largest aftershock of magnitude 2.0.
According to the joint consultation between the Guangdong Seismological Bureau and the China Seismic Network Center, the type of this earthquake is mainly aftershock type, and it is unlikely that an earthquake of magnitude 5 or above will occur in the original earthquake area in the near future.
According to the Guangdong Seismological Bureau, the earthquake was about 1 km away from the Heyuan-Shaowu fault.
Within 100 kilometers of the epicenter, there have been four earthquakes of magnitude 5.0 or above, including three earthquakes of magnitude 5.0-5.9 and one earthquake of magnitude 6.0-6.9. The largest earthquake was the magnitude 6.1 earthquake that occurred in Heyuan, Guangdong on March 19, 1962 ( about 5 kilometers from the epicenter).
