In the early hours of the 22nd, the whereabouts of a worker who was performing maintenance and inspection of the tracks on the Tohoku Shinkansen disappeared, and each Shinkansen passing through Omiya Station slowed down to ensure safety. Over a million people were affected.

According to JR, around 2:30 am on the 22nd, one of the seven men who was performing maintenance and inspection between Omiya Station and Oyama Station on the Tohoku Shinkansen disappeared.

Since the work was done on the tracks, each Shinkansen passing through Omiya Station, such as the Tohoku Shinkansen and Joetsu Shinkansen, was operated at a reduced speed from the first train to ensure safety.

As a result of this, according to JR, there was a maximum delay of about 1 hour and 10 minutes, affecting 23,300 people.

Delays were mostly eliminated in the evening.

The police contacted by JR are looking for the whereabouts of the worker.
