Satellite images of the Chaohu Lake area in 2016 and 2022 show that the formerly bare barren beach has turned into a green wetland, and the vegetation coverage has continued to expand. The "emerald necklace" composed of forests and wetlands surrounds Chaohu Lake, becoming a habitat for animals and plants to multiply. Paradise, the ecological environment is getting better and better.

  Hefei City, Anhui Province faces the Yangtze River to the south, Huaihe River to the north, and embraces Chaohu Lake, one of the five major freshwater lakes. It has a developed water system and rich wetland resources.

Up to now, the total area of ​​wetland in Hefei is 118,200 hectares, with a wetland rate of 10.33%. There are 5 national wetland parks and 3 provincial wetland parks, with a wetland protection rate of 75%.

  In recent years, Hefei City has launched ten wetland protection and restoration projects around Chaohu Lake.

Today, ten wetlands including Paihekou, Hubin, Sanhe, Huailin, Zhegao River, Qifengzhou, Mawei River, Yudai River, Peninsula, and Shibalianwei have been fully restored.
