A female university student was found dead in an apartment in Sapporo, and a 53-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of abandoning the body. A police interview revealed that it was captured on a security camera in the city.

The police are investigating further details assuming that the two were meeting.

Isamu Ono (53), an unemployed man from Higashi-ku, Sapporo, was arrested on 10th of this month on suspicion of abandoning the body of a 22-year-old female university student from Otaru in his apartment.



On the 3rd of this month, the victim, a female university student, went out after telling her family that she was going to meet her friend in Sapporo, and went missing.



According to the police, on the same day, a security camera captured a female university student riding in a rental car driven by Ono near JR Teine Station in Sapporo.



In addition, according to investigative sources, Ono has stated in the investigation so far that he was asked by the victim to kill him, and that he killed him by strangling him in his apartment.



The police believe that the two were meeting on the day, and are investigating the details leading up to the incident.
