The 55-minute film, which was shown the day before yesterday at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Dubai, narrates the pain of those affected by the largest non-nuclear explosion, which occurred on August 4, 2000, and presents the stories of the injured and those who lost members of their families.

The film, which will be shown on the "Umm Content" platform, begins with the scene of the huge explosion that shook the Lebanese capital, and then moves directly to interviews with human stories that overflow with pain, whether psychological or physical, starting from the stage of rescue or searching for bodies and identifying their owners, all the way to the stage of after the explosion.

The film was shown in conjunction with the release of a group of artworks that will be sold via virtual reality (metaverse), and the proceeds will go to those who are still facing the effects and damages of the explosion.

Director Abu Salah told "Emirates Today" about the film: "I worked on documenting what happened to those affected and the families of the victims of the explosion two years later, to shed light on the effects that still continue to this day. When the explosion happened, I was in Beirut, and it affected me a lot. There are a large number of injured people who are still receiving treatment due to their physical disabilities.”

He noted that the selection of the cases he documented in the film came through searching for cases whose stories have not been heard until today, especially the families of the victims, explaining that it is the first documentary work that he presents, an experience he wanted to engage in with this particular subject due to the magnitude of the effects of the explosion, as well as the presence of many A story that deserves to be told.

For his part, the film’s cameraman and one of the founders of Plan LP, the foundation that will distribute the proceeds from “Metaverse” works, Mahmoud Itani, said: “The film presents difficult psychological and physical problems, while humanitarian initiatives work to give people joy to be the message.” The main thing is to spread happiness and hope.
