The Israeli army announced that it had carried out an exceptional attack in Sidon, targeting a senior official in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in Lebanon called Basil Saleh.

Anatolia Agency said that 4 people were killed and others wounded near the targeted car in the Kharoub region, according to eyewitnesses.

In early January, an Israeli raid targeted a meeting of Hamas leaders in the southern suburb of the capital, Beirut, which led to the martyrdom of Saleh Al-Arouri, deputy head of the movement’s political bureau, and a number of his companions.

In the wake of a devastating Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, since October 8, the Israeli-Lebanese border has witnessed an exchange of fire between the Israeli army on the one hand and Hezbollah and Palestinian factions on the other hand, which led to deaths and injuries on both sides of the border.
