The Chongqing Meteorological Observatory upgraded and issued a "high temperature red warning signal" at 9:00 on August 9. On that day, the highest temperature in the central urban area of Chongqing reached 41 °C.

According to Dai Zedong, a member of the team, when the outdoor temperature is around 40°C, the temperature inside the maintenance garage is as high as 50°C, like "working while steaming a sauna".
