"The knowledge of actor studies should be more complex, including psychology, sociology, human behavior, etc., so that it is possible to find a better angle when creating characters."
Yu Hewei believes that the meaning of "culture" is broad and profound, covering all aspects, and it is far more than just "being able to write".
He mentioned that his mother was illiterate, but Yu Hewei never thought his mother was "unliterate".
"The rules, ideas, sayings, and life wisdom she taught by her words and deeds are actually all culture." Yu Hewei recalled helping his mother write family letters when he was a child, "It was all dictated by my mother, and I had to look up the dictionary when I came across words that I didn't know. For example, when I was reading some thick books, I suddenly saw a passage that my mother said. Maybe some of the content did not fall into the books, but this is how our traditional culture has been passed down and has a broad foundation among the people.”
Yu Hewei said that an actor needs a "sense of faith", and his self-confidence comes from a lot of desk work and observation of life when he creates a role. So confident; when I filmed "Captain of Criminal Police", if I didn't experience life, I would not be so confident. After clarifying the logic of the characters, many things will 'grow' by themselves." In the age of controversy, Yu Hewei believes that numbers and traffic are not the original sins themselves, but don't be "king" and "doing alone".
"The dimension of evaluation needs to be diversified. It can be used as a reference for traffic, but don't care too much. Art creation must adhere to sincerity, and it must be sincere to the works and characters. This is the first level of performance."
