On June 13, the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology announced the latest archaeological results of the Sanxingdui site in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. A total of nearly 13,000 numbered cultural relics have been unearthed from the six "sacrificial pits".

Several precious cultural relics with peculiar shapes have never been seen before, and they are also proof of the diversity and unity of Chinese civilization.

The Sanxingdui site is located in Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, covering an area of ​​about 12 square kilometers. It was first discovered in the 1920s.

Since 2020, the Sichuan Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Peking University, Sichuan University and other scientific research institutions and universities have formed a joint archaeological team. Next to the "Sacrificial Pit" No. 1 and No. 2, they have successively discovered and excavated 3 3,000-year-old artifacts. There are six "sacrificial pits" from No. 8 to No. 8.

At present, the field excavation of Sanxingdui No. 3 and 4 "Sacrificial Pit" has been completed, and No. 5 and 6 "Sacrificial Pit" are carrying out indoor cleaning of buried cultural relics. The cultural relics announced this time are mainly concentrated in No. 7 and 8 "Sacrificial Pit".
