Why this book?
Because the author changes register and goes from black novel
to white literature and even if the book is green, it's worth the detour.
Through the prism of the landlord/tenant duel, Hervé Commère takes us on a human encounter with a capital H. Accurately drawn portraits of four tenants who will get to know each other and themselves .
If they thought they were only gaining accommodation, they will in turn find answers to their own existential questions.
Because it is an intelligent, humorous
but at the same time moving and comforting read.
You will sometimes like to hate the protagonists but above all you will feel so close to them that you will have the impression of knowing them forever.
From a sedentary life in Paris, we follow them on a last chance road trip.
A book that talks about unlikely friendship, love, resilience too, in a benevolent way.

The plot.
A building, four apartments, tenants who meet without ever getting to know each other.
The day the owner decides to sell the building, the residents will find one thing in common: no one wants to leave.
So they will all look for a solution together.

Raoul taxi driver, his companion Valérie, Bastien Billard their next door neighbor, Dave Missouri solitary and secretive and Suzanne the old lady of the second who spends a lot of time on the bench of the residence in the company of Melody an ex-tenant.

Hervé Commère is a French author born in 1974. He lives and works in Paris.
After studying literature, he became a bartender, then bar owner.
This book was read with
the idea of reading noir and Hervé Commère took me to a very different but equally intoxicating place.
A very good read where I discovered new friends that I had trouble leaving when closing the novel.
