A nutritionist enumerates the health benefits of eating less bread

Dr. Tatiana Razumovskaya, a Russian nutrition expert, confirmed that eating bread daily affects the digestion process and weight gain.

Razumovskaya pointed out the problems that can be avoided by giving up eating bread altogether or reducing the amount we eat.

According to the Russian nutritionist, 100 grams of bread contains 250-300 calories, and the glycemic index of wheat flour bread is 85-90.

Razumovskaya says: “When we eat white bread, the secretion of insulin increases sharply, because the blood sugar level rises suddenly, and in the same way it decreases after a while, which makes the person feel hungry, meaning that white bread indirectly causes an increase in weight because it stimulates appetite. If a person eats a lot and moves a little, it is better for him to completely exclude bread from his diet.”

The expert adds: Whole-grain bread contains a high percentage of dietary fiber;

So when you eat a large amount of it;

It causes bloating and gas formation;

But when eaten in moderation, it improves digestion.

"White bread made of wheat flour can cause constipation, especially in the elderly," she says. "It is better to give up eating it if there are problems with the work of the intestines."
