Recently, an Asian elephant wandered leisurely to the streets of Mengman Town, Mengla County, Yunnan Province. The police from the border police station in Mengman cooperated with the forest police, forestry and other departments to evacuate the crowd, monitor the elephant's whereabouts, and prevent accidents caused by close contact with the elephants.
In the morning, the institute continuously received alarms from the masses saying that “the elephant is coming to the street.” After learning about the police situation, the police immediately coordinated the resident forestry department to use drones to monitor the real-time dynamics of the elephants. According to the geographical environment, village distribution, road traffic, etc., traffic control, road blockade, and personnel will be carried out along the route of elephants to prevent vehicles and people from disturbing the elephants.
At around 14:00 that day, the elephant crossed the road and left the street and returned safely to the mountain forest nature reserve. The street resumed normal order.
