The Egyptian Interior: The donkey's car was heading to the Giza Zoo, not meat factories

A security source in the Egyptian Interior denied the validity of what was circulated in Arab media and on social media, regarding the security services’ ability to seize a car loaded with donkeys, some of them dead and destined to be sold in Cairo, to some meat factories.

The source confirmed, according to a number of local newspapers, that the car loaded with donkeys was heading to the zoo in Giza, with a mandate issued by the Central Administration of Zoos.

And the Egyptian security, according to the widely circulated news, had seized a car late at night, which aroused the suspicions of the officers in charge of servicing Sennuris Road in Fayoum Governorate in Egypt, who were surprised that the car was loaded with 20 donkeys, including dead donkeys.

The officers stated that the car was carrying 20 donkeys, including dead donkeys, with a total of 3,000 kilos of donkey meat, which was on its way from Senouris Center to Giza and Cairo governorates.

Security sources confirmed that the driver was transporting donkeys from the Senoras Center, in preparation for delivering them to some meat factories in the Sixth of October City, which are inserting them into the minced and processed meat and kofta industries in preparation for distribution to restaurants in Cairo during the blessed Eid al-Adha.
