The strongest rainfall ends today, there are still thundery days this week

This round of rainfall in the city averaged more than 100 mm. There was also a moderate rain on the night of the 17th

News from our newspaper (Reporter Luo Qianwen) The strongest rainfall since the flood season finally ended today.

As of 23:00 yesterday, the city's average rainfall reached 113.1 mm, from heavy rain to heavy rain. The largest Pinggu Xifan Gezhuang fell 285.1 mm.

The Municipal Meteorological Observatory predicts that there will be thunderstorms in Beijing this week, and there will be a moderate rain on the night of the 17th.

According to the Meteorological Observatory, from 18:00 on the 11th to 23:00 on the 12th, the city’s precipitation is (mm): the city’s average is 113.1, the urban average is 116.9, the northeast is 140.6, the southwest is 107.3, the northwest is 100.4, the southeast is 89.3, and the city’s largest Chaoyang Sunhe Station is 173.1. The city’s largest Pinggu Xifan Gezhuang is 285.1.

In addition, more than 100 millimeters of rainfall occurred in more than 200 stations in the city, mainly in Yanqing, Miyun, Fangshan, Mentougou, Changping, Haidian, Chaoyang, Fengtai, Shijingshan and Xicheng.

Strong winds of magnitude 6 or above occurred in Fangshan, Mentougou, Changping, Haidian, Shijingshan, Yanqing, Huairou, Pinggu, and Tongzhou, with gusts of magnitude 9 or so.

According to the monitoring and analysis of the Central Meteorological Observatory, the precipitation process that began on July 11 can be regarded as the beginning of the rainy season in North China this year, which is one week earlier than the average start time of normal years.

However, it is not uncommon to see heavy precipitation at this stage in previous years.

From the evening of the 11th to the daytime on the 12th, the rain fell intermittently one day and one night, and then rested for a while.

Why does this rain make people feel procrastinated?

Zhao Wei, the chief forecaster of the Municipal Meteorological Observatory, said that the heavy rainfall process in North China was affected by the low vortex system. This low vortex precipitation has a very high efficiency. When it comes, it is relatively violent, but it also has the characteristics of spiral rain bands. After a pause, the precipitation is intermittent.

From the actual situation, at around 18:00 on the 11th, the rain front arrived in Beijing first, bringing the first wave of precipitation to Beijing, followed by the second wave from 22:00 to 23:00, and then the first wave from 5 am to 6 am yesterday. Three waves.

Zhao Wei explained that the low vortex system is not like the impact of the high-altitude trough on Beijing. When the high-altitude trough comes, it is a rain band. After it passes, it will pass, and the rain will go down.

However, the low vortex system looks like a spiral echo rainband from the cloud picture. It will continue to rotate. For example, the rainband that affects the urban area will turn to the north, but it will turn back in a while, and the urban area will fall again. A wave.

The rainfall will eventually weaken and end until the central body of the entire low vortex system has turned out of Beijing, so the overall time of rainfall will be longer.

As of 12:00 on the 12th, heavy rainfall in North China has moved to the northeast, and the intensity has also weakened.

It is expected that from the 12th to the 13th, some areas in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia and other places will still have strong rainfall, strong convection and strong wind.

On the 13th, the precipitation area will further move east to north, mainly affecting Liaoning, Heilongjiang and eastern Inner Mongolia, and the intensity will be further weakened.

Judging from the forecast from the Municipal Meteorological Observatory, it is expected that most of the time in Beijing this week will have more cloud cover and rainy weather.

Among them, there were thunderstorms during the day from the 13th to the 14th and the 17th to the 18th, and the rainfall at night on the 17th could reach moderate rain.

During the day, the highest temperature is 27°C to 32°C, and the lowest temperature at night is 22°C to 24°C.

Meteorological experts reminded that the heavy rainfall was mainly in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and other places, especially the public in disaster-prone areas such as Beijing and the mountainous areas in central and southern Hebei. Disasters such as waterlogging in urban and rural areas.
