On the afternoon of the 12th, a woman was found dead with blood bleeding from her head on a forest road leading to a marshland in Takinoe Town, Hokkaido.

Police are calling attention to the possibility of being attacked by a brown bear due to injury or surrounding conditions.

Around 2:30 pm on the 12th, a staff member of the forest management office who passed by reported to the police that "a person has fallen" on the forest road leading to the Ukishima Marsh in Takinouegenya, Takinoe Town, Hokkaido.



When police officers rushed in, a woman was found dead on the spot, with her head injured and bleeding.



Since the animal dung, which seems to be a brown bear, had also fallen near the place where the woman had fallen, police said that the woman may have been attacked by the brown bear due to injury or surrounding conditions, and approached the vicinity. We are calling on you not to do so and are rushing to confirm your identity.



On the morning of the 13th, Takinoe Town will dispatch a hunting club to the site to tour and discuss future measures including extermination of brown bears.
