After storms and floods in Franconia, the situation there has eased.

Despite the rain, the levels fell on Sunday in most of the affected areas.

Elsewhere, too, the situation calmed down: after a blockage due to flooding, ships near Karlsruhe are allowed to sail again on the Rhine.

The fire brigade in the districts of Neustadt an der Aisch and Erlangen-Höchstadt (both Middle Franconia) had to do with too much water on Sunday.

A spokesman for the fire department said a spokesman for the fire brigade said that the basement can only be pumped out now because of the sinking level.

The spokesman warned urgently against navigating flooded ditches, areas and rivers with rubber dinghies, canoes or stand-up paddles.

That is "incredibly dangerous".

In Ansbach, however, the situation had "relaxed completely" by Sunday.

Here, too, a disaster had meanwhile been declared.

In the night of Saturday, a storm on Rügen also caused damage to roads and slopes.

On Saturday morning, the situation slowly relaxed, as a fire department spokesman said.

Constant summer weather in Germany is not in sight at the start of the week either.

According to the German Meteorological Service in Offenbach, it will initially be sunny on Monday, but rain will pour into the country from the southwest during the course of the day.

In the first half of the week it will continue to rain, sometimes persistently, in the south and west.

Only at the end of the week will it be summery there too.

The north and east get temperatures sometimes over 30 degrees.

According to the meteorologists, heavy showers and thunderstorms are also possible there.
