Video .. Moments of a volcano eruption in Iceland

A video clip published by his photographer on his account on the social networking site "Facebook", showed the eruption of the Vagrad volcano, the flood in the Reykjanes Peninsula in southwest Iceland.

Social networking sites and some international news sites shared the video clip filmed by a drone, which showed lava flowing from the crater.

For its part, "BBC" said on its website that the eruption of the volcano was expected after the Icelandic capital Reykjavik recorded more than 50,000 earthquakes recently.

The BBC added that the eruption did not spew out much ash, so no major disturbance is expected.

AFP quoted officials as saying that the area of the blast was open to the public, but could only be reached by a difficult hike for several hours from the nearest road.

The eruption created a no-fly zone in the area, and residents and people were advised to stay away.

The Icelandic Meteorological Office (IMO) said in a report yesterday that the pollution is likely to have a minimal impact on the health of the area's residents.
