Next year, Vianney will occupy one of the jury seats in the musical program "The Voice" on TF1.

For a long time, the singer, who is not a big fan of television, refused to take on this role.

At the microphone of Isabelle Morizet, Sunday on Europe 1, he tells what made him change his mind.

INTERVIEW

After having refused for a long time this place, Vianney will occupy one of the famous red armchairs of the show "The Voice" on TF1.

Next year, for the 10th season, he will be one of the coaches who will be responsible for finding the musical artists of tomorrow.

This fate was far from being obvious for the singer, who has just released his new album

Let's not wait

, as he explained on Sunday on Europe 1, at the microphone of Isabelle Morizet.

"It was really asking the question: 'Do I want to be in another sphere of notoriety?'

I didn't want to ", explains the artist.

"On the other hand, my relatives said to me: 'Are you stupid or what? You are already known!'

It is true that I always find it difficult to realize that I already have a reputation. "

"I think that's really the path I was able to take in the studio"

But another reason led Vianney, who says he hardly ever watches television, to agree to join "The Voice".

“I think that's really the path that I've been able to take in the studio, writing for others over the past two years. I've done a lot, a lot, a lot. And I finally did what I did. they call coaching. But for me, it was more advice and realization. I found myself facing an artist and it was a question of sublimating what he offered me ", he indicated.

Vianney "never thought" of doing the show as a candidate

When he was still navigating the twists and turns of anonymity, Vianney also said he had "never thought" of participating in this program.

"It's just, maybe, that I didn't see myself there. And it turns out there are some really talented people out there who don't win 'The Voice' and make a pretty path behind it."

From now on, the singer will join Florent Pagny, of which he was still the first part five years ago.

"I am really the youngest of all the jurors of 'The Voice'. They are just people who have a huge career, beautiful ... Mine is very recent, very young", he said on Europe 1.

"Obviously I'm closer technically to the people I'm going to have in front of me, rather than those who will be by my side. So I will be facing beginners and happy to be able to tell them, me who is four-five years old in advance of their arrival in the business, a little bit what I know of those four-five years. "
