The virtual "V-Expo" conference, organized by blooloop.com, honored the network of professionals working in tourist destinations, Director General of the Sharjah Museums Authority, Manal Ataya, by adding it to the list of the 50 most influential figures in the museum sector worldwide.

This honor came during her participation in the conference, which started from October 13 to 15, with a wide international presence, which included officials from the Cleveland Museum of Art, the London Museum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Royal Academy, as well as many managers and supervisors of museums around the world.

During her speech at the virtual conference, the Director General of the Sharjah Museums Authority stressed the need to adopt innovation policies and pioneering solutions, through the adoption of modern and innovative mechanisms and methods for tourism destinations, which ensure the continued flow of visitors in light of the outbreak of the new Corona virus, in a manner that guarantees their safety and the safety of their workers.

Ataya explained that the loss of the physical location, even for a limited period, highlights the necessity to enhance the digital presence, noting that the outbreak of the "Covid-19" epidemic has prompted museums to transform the pandemic into available opportunities through which communication tools with the public are developed and elevate their digital reality. In the wake of the temporary closure of its museums, last March, to launch a bouquet of virtual tours, lectures, and online workshops, to keep in touch with its fans.

She added that the authority continues to launch monthly packages of lectures and workshops on the Internet, commensurate with different ages and interests, and cover several topics, including art, science and history, pointing out that the temporary closure has led to an influx of new visitors and strengthened the ability of cultural places to reach New audiences, as the authority’s websites witnessed an 80% increase.
