On August 20, the "Yangtze River 2020 No. 5 Flood" passed through Yichang City, Hubei Province. Many local citizens came to the riverside to check water conditions. Affected by the recent heavy rainfall, a total of 62 rivers including the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and the Minjiang, Tuojiang, and Jialing Rivers have experienced over-alarm floods. The inflow of the Three Gorges Reservoir rose to 75,000 cubic meters per second on the same day.
