Customs seized in full confinement more than 650 kilos of cannabis and grass in the middle of spoiled salads in a truck stopped near Lyon, announced Thursday the Ministry of Action and Public Accounts.

After an investigation lasting several weeks, agents from the National Directorate of Intelligence and Customs Investigations (DNRED) intercepted a truck coming from Spain during the night of 23-24 April.

In the middle of a load of salads unfit for consumption, they found "a filmed pallet containing 20 Moroccan suitcases and 15 bags of cannabis herb", or 645 kilos of cannabis resin and 53 kilos of cannabis herb, Bercy continues in his press release.

The driver has since been charged with drug trafficking and placed in pre-trial detention and the judicial investigation has been entrusted to the Lyon Anti-Narcotics Office (OFAST).
