Since it is expected that more companies will be forced to take further leave due to the extension of the emergency declaration, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare will accept applications such as grants to maintain employment during consecutive holidays.

In response to the spread of the new coronavirus, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare is gradually expanding the subsidy system for maintaining employment and the employment adjustment subsidy, and calling on companies to maintain employment.

Since the number of applications for subsidies has started to be expanded, the number of applications has increased to about 3,500 since mid-February, and it is expected that the number of applications from companies that will be forced to take further leave due to the extension of the emergency declaration will increase. The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has decided to open labor offices and approximately 500 Hello Work offices throughout the country during the consecutive holidays and accept consultations and applications for grants.

In addition, the call center for subsidies and the special labor counseling offices established at labor bureaus nationwide will continue to provide counseling during the holidays.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare calls for companies that are facing business difficulties due to prolonged holidays to consult with us even during consecutive holidays, so we want to use the system to maintain employment.
