Meitetsu Kanko Service, a travel agency in Nagoya, announced that it had fraudulently received more than 22 million yen in government employment adjustment subsidies. As a result, the company has returned more than 2.9 billion yen to the Aichi Labor Bureau, including the full amount of the subsidy it received, plus penalties and late fees.

This was revealed at a press conference held by Meitetsu Tourism Service on the 15th.

It has been confirmed that the company fraudulently received over 22 million yen in government employment adjustment subsidies, which are paid to employees who maintain their employment by taking time off due to the effects of the new coronavirus.

Fraudulent receipt of benefits was discovered at a total of 26 branches, including the Toyama branch and the Hokuriku branch in Kanazawa City, where employees created false documents claiming that they had been absent from work due to the coronavirus, when in fact they were working. That means it was submitted.

In response to this, on the 15th, the company received a notice from the Aichi Labor Bureau requesting the cancellation of the payment decision and the return of the subsidy, and the company received the full amount of the subsidy received in the two years from April 2020, as well as penalties and late fees. In total, more than 2.9 billion yen was returned.

At a press conference, Akihiro Mizoguchi, general manager of business strategy at Meitetsu Kanko Service, said, ``We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern we have caused. We will implement preventive measures to ensure that this does not happen again, and we will work to restore trust.'' I want to.”
