China News Agency, Hong Kong, April 20 (Reporter Zhang Xiaoxi) The Hong Kong police said on the 20th that the Hong Kong Police Headquarters received a package sent to the Hong Kong Police Commissioner Deng Bingqiang in the morning that contained a working explosive device. The police are currently investigating and no one is injured.

The police said that at 10 a.m. on the same day, after receiving the parcel from the Hong Kong Police Headquarters, someone smelled a strong smell of flammable goods and immediately notified the explosives disposal staff. After the relevant personnel arrived, they confirmed that the package contained an operational explosive device, stopped its operation in time, and conducted seizure and further testing.

The police pointed out that the same type of explosive device used in the package was used in terrorist attacks in the past. Such explosives targeted the recipient's face, eyes and hands in an attempt to cause serious injury.

Wu Yingshi, senior superintendent of the Hong Kong Police District Hong Kong Island Criminal Headquarters, said that because explosive devices are generally very unstable, they may even have the opportunity to explode while being transported, injuring innocent citizens. The police even severely condemned the actions of openly challenging law enforcement agencies.

Wu Yingshi also said that the police will do everything in their power to investigate and arrest the persons involved. (Finish)
