The Director General of Health, Jérôme Salomon, announced Thursday that more than 12,000 people had died after contracting the coronavirus, hospitals and Ehpad combined. For the first time, the number of people in intensive care is falling.

The daily figures for coronavirus in France were announced on Thursday by Jérôme Salomon. The Director General of Health reported a total of 12,210 deaths (8,044 deaths in hospitals and 4,166 in nursing homes). He also said that 7,066 patients were currently in intensive care, a drop of 82 people in 24 hours, the first decline since the start of the epidemic.
