After the general call for containment, make way for crisis mobilization. In a letter addressed to the inhabitants of the department, the prefect of Morbihan called on companies "to reopen" during this period of fight against the coronavirus. In his letter, Patrice Faure addresses all the driving forces of the department, inviting them to "continue their activity, even partially". The reason ? "Avoid the worst recession of the century," according to the prefect.

Concerned very early by the propagation of Covid-19, the department of Morbihan engaged in mid-March in an increasingly strict confinement. Classified as an “active circulation zone” of the virus, the territory of southern Brittany has probably followed President Macron's instructions to the letter. A bit too much ? This is the feeling of the prefect who believes that "the instructions have been overinterpreted" and evokes the closure of "many companies which were neither subject to prohibitions, nor by the support mechanisms of public authorities".

The prefect therefore calls on these companies to reopen in compliance with the law and with barrier measures. To justify his injunction, the prefect refers to the need "to ensure the economic continuity of the country". "Our economy must not stop," said the representative of the state.

In Morbihan, 134 cases of coronavirus were recorded Thursday evening. A stable figure over 24 hours, a first since the start of the epidemic. For several weeks and well before the national instructions, schools have been closed in the region of Auray and Carnac, where the virus was actively circulating.
