From Notre-Dame to the Louvre via the Grévin and the Moulin Rouge… With 2020 Le Pari (s) des Enfoirés , the forty-six artists of the troupe mobilized for the benefit of Restos du Coeur invite you for a walk in the capital, this Friday at 9:05 p.m. on TF1. Anne Marcassus, the producer of the seven concerts given in January at the AccorHotels Arena in Paris, promises viewers "a lot of emotion".
The show begins with "It is time for cathedrals". It was the fire of Notre-Dame de Paris that inspired the theme of the 2020 concert?
Of course. It was such an upheaval for the whole of France. We are always trying to find strong entrances. There, we were doing the concert in Paris, we thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to Notre-Dame, which is the cathedral of all French people. Afterwards, Paris is mainly a question of sketches than of songs that are quite disconnected from the city. The sketches are like a stroll through the capital.
This year, Muriel Robin and Véronique Sanson are making their return to the troupe. Is it a symbol that counts?
Obviously. It is important that every year there are artists who come back, like Florent Pagny last year. Les Enfoirés is something transgenerational. Véronique Sanson was there thirty years ago. Muriel Robin has been our mistress of ceremonies for years, it was great that they were back. It's a good signal. This means that, even if we are not there, we are still behind the Restos du Coeur.
If there is one emblematic artist of Les Enfoirés, it's Jean-Jacques Goldman. Many say, since his departure in 2016, that he is "irreplaceable". You agree ?
He is irreplaceable because, already, he did not have a replaceable place. He did not impose himself by pushing people, saying "I want to be leader of the Bastards". He didn't look for it. He worked, that's it, and he started working for restaurants, then, little by little, we always asked him a little more. It is not a position to be filled. Someone had to stick to it and he stuck to it.
Is his return possible?
I hope so, but the answer is he who has it.
This year, there are many new heads who join the troupe (Vitaa, Boulevard des Airs, Alice Pol, Maëlle, Helena Noguerra, Inès Reg, Black M). It is now "easier" to become a bastard?
It has never been complicated. We, our major problem, are the girls. There was a huge imbalance in the troop. At one point, we ended up with twelve girls and twenty-five boys. When there are girls who can come in, we find it great. It is not a parity that we are looking for, but it is important for the balance of the show, so that the pictures are not made mainly by boys. We are also looking for people who can potentially bring something to the show by their talent, by what they represent, what they are able to do. We need multidisciplinary personalities because we make them play comedy, dance, sing. And they must be available.
Rumor has it that rapper Dadju has failed the Enfoirés at the last minute ...
So, that really is false, false, false, false, false! I denied it. He was approached like others. His agenda, unfortunately, did not allow him to participate this year, but he never planted us. There are malicious people who always try to create mini-polemics. I do not understand why. What is the point ? And especially to tell false things.
This year, two athletes are invited, basketball player Tony Parker and footballer Amandine Henry…
Each year, we try to integrate athletes. I tried to contact Tony Parker, but it turns out that Michèle Laroque came across him in a restaurant. She called me and said he was ready. It got pinned well and it's really thanks to Michèle Laroque. You should know that the artists are involved all year round, they can make us proposals for people to take, songs to select… Amandine Henry, she is captain of the France team. They went far [at the 2019 World Cup], they made incredible scores on TV. We wanted to highlight women's football. Amandine Henry really played the game, she appears in a skit and a song, she was great.
In a few words, what can the viewers who watch “Le Pari (s) des Enfoirés” expect?
There is a lot of emotion and smiles. I noticed that the artists were all smiling this year. There are times, you know, when they get tired at the seventh concert. We catch the show during the Sunday and Monday performances [the last concerts]. There, I said to myself that we could have made an eighth or a ninth… They always had the same smile, the same peach. There was a brotherhood which, I find, transpires in the image. I admire these artists who give so much. I assure you that, for them, it is really tiring. There is an after-asshole which is hard to manage. They are on the kneecaps at the end.

The Enfoirés show will not be visible in replay. However, as of Saturday, 2020 Le Pari (s) des Enfoirés will be available on DVD - including several bonuses - and in double CD. They will be sold for the benefit of Restos du Coeur. Each sale will allow the association to distribute seventeen meals.
