The controllers' strike begins this Thursday evening and it is already impacting users who wanted to go on vacation. Among them, two groups stand out: the relieved whose train was not canceled and the angry whose trip was canceled who must find an urgent solution. Europe 1 went to Montparnasse station to give them the floor.

One more strike for jaded travelers. The SNCF controllers' strike begins this Thursday evening and it is already impacting users who wanted to go on vacation. There are now two types of travelers: the relieved who can take a train, the one planned or another, and then the disgusted, whose trip has been canceled and who do not necessarily have a recovery plan. Europe 1 went to Montparnasse station to give them the floor.

In the station, none of the passengers are smiling, yet many can go on vacation this Thursday evening. With a suitcase in hand, Paul is going to take his train to go to Brittany. If luck hadn't smiled on him, he would have had to cancel his vacation. “I had to cancel my train which was to leave tomorrow to take one which was leaving this evening. But it is more expensive and in addition I have to make connections”, testifies the user. For Paul, this situation is almost becoming a habit. “I especially think of the people who had to cancel their trips, it’s sad but that’s how it is,” he concludes.

A general annoyance

The worries are not confined to outgoing trips. In transit through Paris, Martine almost never got to return home. “I left Les Arcs this morning and I am going to Niort. My train was maintained until Paris Gare de Lyon, but my train to return to Niort from Montparnasse was canceled,” she indicates. Fortunately for Martine, she managed to find a place for a train to Poitier at the last minute. Annoyance among travelers is therefore widespread, yet all trains at Montparnasse station are announced on time at departure.
