This is news that Genesis fans have been waiting for years. 13, to be very precise! The legendary group of Phil Collins has indeed announced this morning on the BBC that it will reform for an exceptional tour, which will begin next fall.

"I think it's a fairly natural moment (to reform). We're all good friends, we're still alive ... So here we are! "BBC keyboard player Tony Banks told BBC Radio 2.

The rumors of reformation had started to gain momentum at the beginning of the week when the official Instagram account of the British formation had posted a photo of the group with the legend "And then there were three ...", ("They were only three ”), in reference to their 1978 album, the first to be recorded after the departure of Peter Gabriel, founding member of the group.

Not quite complete

The bad news, since there is one, is that Peter Gabriel will not be part of this tour. Left on bad terms from the group after their tour The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway , the singer never seems to have really reconciled with his former acolytes. Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks will therefore be joined on stage by Phil Collins' son, Nicholas, on drums and Daryl Stuermer on guitar and bass.

The artists are finalizing their setlist for this series of shows. A complicated task given the number of hits of the group: I Can't Dance , Jesus He Knows Me , Land of Confusion , Illegal Alien , Invisible Touch , No Son of Mine … “There are songs that we feel obliged to to play because the audience would feel cheated if we didn't do it. So we're in the process of deciding the order in which we're going to play them, "said Phil Collins.
