An old press release from ANSES diverted to circulate false information. The Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur regional health agency is alerting to false information on the coronavirus circulating in a press release from the National Agency for Food, Environment and Occupational Health Security (ANSES) at destination of the inhabitants of Carry-le-Rouet, in the Bouches-du-Rhône. This is where the French returnees from Wuhan, the epicenter of the Coronavirus epidemic since last Friday, were quarantined.

"Several paragraphs have been added"

"In view of the configuration of the site, the presence of many animals potentially transmitting the virus, the entry and exit of staff and the free movement of patients in the gardens, quarantine is not carried out correctly, and therefore under these conditions , the safety of the inhabitants cannot be guaranteed ”, it is written at the back of the document.

“The beginning of the press release, describing the coronavirus, is indeed from a news from ANSES dating from 2018. However, several paragraphs have been added to panic the populations. This is erroneous information, not based on any scientific element ”, warns the ARS by press release.

A meeting is scheduled for this Friday at 6 p.m. in Carry-le-Rouet in the presence of the prefect, the director general of the ARS and doctors to respond to the residents' concerns and questions. Further explanation of the false information should be provided at this time.
