Honored poets, during the 16th edition of the Sharjah Nabati Poetry Festival, reviewed features of their lives in general, and their story with the poem in particular, stressing that celebrating creativity has a great impact, as it helps the poet to continue and renew his bid.

This came during a morning organized by the Sharjah Nabati Poetry Festival, at the Al Hirah Center for Popular Poetry in Sharjah, in the presence of honorees at the current session of the festival, honored by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, during the opening ceremony of the festival at the Culture Palace in Sharjah, and they : Mohammed Saeed Al-Hali, Saif Al-Saadi and Maryam Al-Tunaiji.

The poet and scholar Ali Al Abdan, who presented the morning, said that this is the first time that a symposium has been organized in which the honorees will participate in order to dialogue with the public and answer their questions, pointing to the importance of Nabatean poetry and its great position in the Gulf and Arab societies.

Message

For his part, Mohammed Saeed Al-Hali touched on his experience and his journey with poetry, expressing his thanks to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, for his efforts in serving culture, science and knowledge. He described poetry as a message in its various contents, whether in sermon, wisdom, spinning, or any of the multiple purposes of poetry, considering that the beauty of poetry lies in the complementarity of its elements, which are rhyme, weight, meaning, and parts of the poem from the introduction, body and summary.

He talked about his childhood and that he was born into a family known as poetry, and that he started a poetry loan and his first poems when he was only five years old, and that he was greatly influenced by his uncle, the great poet, Salem Al-Jamri, who is one of the most important poets in the Emirates and the Arabian Gulf.

Motivation to give

For his part, the poet, Saif Al-Saadi, affirmed that the honor will remain a motivation for giving in the future, as it had a great impact on himself, thanks to the poet Saeed Al-Hali, who was the first to present it to the audience.

He added about his career with the poem: “I wrote poetry only for poetry, I did not think about honoring or appearing, writing the poem for the poem itself, and when the poet writes the poem for the poem itself, it will have a spiritual and psychological impact that has no boundaries for the creator, and in its impact In recipients as well, but when the poet mocks his poetry for a specific purpose and a means to reach a specific goal, poetry will not serve him in that, as poetry is an end in itself with its beauty and its glory. ”

From the audience’s interventions with the poet Al-Saadi, he was asked about the most beautiful stations of his life, and he replied that he has not yet reached the most beautiful station because he aspires to the most beautiful in every stage, but perhaps the most beautiful stations, the love of people and hearing their poetry.

The symposium concluded with audience interventions by the honored, as the symposium witnessed a large number of poets, guests and poetry lovers.
