The mushroom hunting season will begin ... Watch out for the poisonous mushrooms, September 25, 12:13

Yamagata Prefecture will have a full-fledged mushroom hunting season, but food poisoning due to poisonous mushrooms occurs every year, and the prefecture is calling for attention because there are many cases caused by oyster mushrooms.

According to Yamagata Prefecture, there were 22 food poisonings caused by poisonous mushrooms in the 5 years until last year, of which about 73% were caused by Tsukiyotake.

Tsukiyotake is similar in shape to edible oyster mushrooms and shiitake mushrooms, and sometimes grows in combination with them, and it is characterized by black spots in the center of the handle when the root is split.

Yamagata Prefecture is calling for caution when collecting, because it does not collect mushrooms that it does not know, and it can grow together with eatable and poisonous mushrooms.
