Thierry Thuilier, Deputy Chief Information Officer of the TF1 group, lamented on Europe 1 the cut of the Altice channels (including BFMTV) on Orange boxes.

INTERVIEW

After the telecom operator Free two weeks ago, Orange suspended Thursday the broadcast of three channels Altice (BFMTV, RMC Discovery and RMC Story). Thierry Thuillier, deputy general manager of the TF1 Group's information division, who spoke on Thursday in Europe 1 studios on the occasion of LCI's 25th anniversary, took the opportunity to comment on this break. "I find it sad enough when we come to this extreme and radical," he lamented.

"It's normal for channels to demand a valuation of their investment"

The official recalled that his own channel, TF1, had been interrupted for Canal + subscribers in spring 2018. "The newspapers had been very impacted," he said. "On behalf of the TF1 group, we consider that these channels and the services associated with these channels have a value, starting with the info: having hierarchical and verified information, with newsrooms, asking for money and it is normal that the channels demand a valuation of this investment, "he continued. "We want a form of appeasement and solutions as soon as possible."
