The Syrian Presidency announced yesterday that the Department of Investigation has closed its official account, alerting it to the possibility of similar measures as the so-called "siege imposed on the country" since the beginning of the conflict to include social networking sites.

The Presidency said in a statement published on its account in the application of the telegram and the official media quoted "after the closure of the channel of the presidency of the Syrian Arab Republic" on YouTube several times, the Department of Integrity is closing the account of the presidency on its site without warning or provide a logical reason for it.

The measure comes a week after the ING closed the accounts of several of Iran's Revolutionary Guard commanders.
