TOKYO (Reuters) - Tesla, the US electric car maker, said on Monday it had sent a team to investigate a clip of a video broadcast on China's social media for the Tesla explosion as it stopped.

The clip was widely shared on the Chinese Webbo platform similar to Twitter and Hashtag (marking) "Tesla Burns Self" became one of the most readable topics on Webbo after it received more than five million views.

"After we discovered this incident in Shanghai, we immediately sent a team to the site, and we are now in contact with relevant departments to understand the situation," said Tesla on her official account on Webbo.
