A former South Korean ambassador who was stationed in the Middle East was accused of molesting a local female employee, and the police have confirmed that they are investigating.



The Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency's Women's and Youth Division received a complaint from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in mid-February against the former ambassador A, who was stationed in a certain region in the Middle East, and is investigating.



A is accused of molesting a local female employee B at a dinner held at the local embassy in early November last year.



After the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is known to have filed a complaint with the police after conducting its own investigation.



A police official said, "We cannot tell you the details of the incident as it is under investigation."
