  Lin Yutang is a famous modern Chinese writer, scholar, translator, and linguist.

The former residence of Lin Yutang, located in Banzai Town, Pinghe County, has white walls and black tiles, nestled among lush green trees, and is particularly peaceful.

Lin Yutang was born here on October 10, 1895.

On March 5, at Lin Yutang's former residence in Pinghe County, Zhangzhou City, BGI ASEAN female students visited the classroom of Mingxin Primary School where Lin Yutang studied to experience Lin Yutang's culture.

In the morning, Lin Qiuhui, director of the Lin Yutang Literature Museum, took female ASEAN students from BGI to visit Lin Yutang's former residence and introduce Lin Yutang's cultural stories.

  In the former residence, BGI ASEAN female students visited Lin Yutang's photos from various periods and the works created by famous calligraphers for the former residence.

  Liu Mengli said that she hopes to establish contact with more outstanding Chinese young people in the future and contribute to promoting exchanges and interactions in the education field between the two countries.

On the same day, she also learned tea brewing skills and made milk tea, showing a strong interest in Chinese tea culture.

  Chen Zhen, who is also enamored of Chinese tea culture and is from Malaysia, said after tasting the tea with the fragrance of grapefruit flowers that she hopes to bring her family back to the local area in the future to taste tea, travel and experience the profoundness of Chinese tea culture.

The ASEAN female students from BGI also changed into costumes to experience Teochew opera culture.

  As a branch of Southern Opera in the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Chaozhou Opera based on Chaoshan dialect has a history of nearly 600 years.

Zhang Ailing from Thailand "accidentally met" Wang Lijuan, an octogenarian Thai Chinese.

  According to Wang Lijuan, she came to Pinghe from Thailand just to follow the performance of the local Teochew opera troupe. “My parents went to Thailand from China to develop and settle down. Influenced by my parents, I have loved Teochew opera since I was a child. There are many overseas Chinese in Thailand, and Teochew opera is very popular in the local area. Popular.”
