South Korean swimmer Hwang Seon-woo won the national championship in the 200m freestyle with a new record and took the 2nd gold medal.

The stadium was full of fans who came to see Hwang Seon-woo.

When Hwang Seon-woo was introduced, loud cheers erupted, and a solo recital followed with the starting gunshot.

After an overwhelming race without ever giving up the lead from start to finish, he climbed to two gold medals with a new competition record of 1:44.67, which advanced the record of Park Tae-hwan five years ago by 0.34 seconds.

It's a good record, only 0.2 seconds behind his Korean record, set when he was his daughter, to win the world championship silver medal.

[Sun-Woo Hwang / 2nd national championship swimmer: It's a bit disappointing that I didn't break a bit by 0.2 seconds, but I think it's a record I'm satisfied with as I prepare for the (short course) world championship in December.]

Following the 800m relay Hwang Seon-woo, who won two gold medals, will compete in three more events, including the 100m freestyle, to challenge for five gold medals and MVP for the second time in a row.
