China News Service, Beijing, March 13th. On the evening of March 12th local time, the 20th Winter Deaflympics concluded in Erzurum, Turkey.

The Chinese delegation won a total of 20 medals, 7 gold, 7 silver, 6 bronze, ranking first in the medal list and second in the gold medal list, achieving its best result since participating in the Deaf Winter Olympics.

The Ukrainian delegation ranked first in the gold medal list and second in the medal list with 10 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze and 19 medals.

The Austrian delegation, which won 6 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals, ranked third in both the gold medal and medal rankings.

At the last Deaf Winter Olympics held in Italy, the Chinese delegation won 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals, ranking sixth in the medal list.

At this hearing-impaired Winter Olympics, the Chinese delegation not only created the best record, but also achieved comprehensive breakthroughs in snow sports.

Among them, the Chinese snowboarding team and cross-country skiing team have achieved unprecedented good results.

Four years ago, the Chinese delegation only won two bronze medals in snow sports. This time, the Chinese snowboarding team and cross-country skiing team both achieved zero gold medals.

The snowboarding team won 5 gold medals among the 6 medal events, and also won 3 silvers, 1 bronze and 3 fourth places; the cross-country skiing team also won 1 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronzes.

The Chinese team won one 5th place, one 6th place and two 7th places in the alpine skiing event, and their results were also improved compared to the previous session.

As the flagship sport of China's disabled sports, the Chinese curling team once again achieved great results in this competition. The men's team won three consecutive hearing-impaired Winter Olympics championships, and the Chinese women's team, which has won two hearing-impaired Winter Olympics championships, won the bronze medal.

The curling mixed doubles event became an official event at the Deaf Winter Olympics for the first time, and the Chinese team finished fourth.

The 20th Winter Deaflympics opened on March 2, local time. The competition consisted of six major events: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, curling, snowboarding, chess and futsal, with participants from more than 30 countries. More than 500 athletes from and around the region participated.

The Chinese delegation sent 27 athletes to compete in four major events: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, curling, and snowboarding.

The century-old Deaflympics is one of the three comprehensive sports events for people with disabilities in the world. It is hosted by the International Deaf Sports Federation and is held every four years.

Since the International Deaf Sports Federation held its first Deaf Games in 1924 (the predecessor of the Deaf Olympics), 24 Summer Deaf Olympics and 20 Winter Deaf Olympics have been held so far.

This is the fourth time that the Chinese delegation has participated in the Winter Deaflympics.
