Handball star Anna Lagerquist left the Russian border town of Rostov when the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.
Now the midfielder confirms that she will not return to the club Rostov-Don.
- I asked if it was possible to finish already now and there the club has really been accommodating and understanding.
Since then, it has taken some time, but there is also some paperwork that will be completed, says Lagerquist to Sydsvenskan.
Lagerquist belonged to Rostov for almost two seasons, the next she will play for French Nantes.
But what the rest of the current season will be, the former Lugispelaren does not yet know.
- If it happens that I find another team to play with for the rest of the season, or if you simply find a team to train with, we'll see.
Now the focus has been on arranging all the practicalities of this, she says.
Last week, coach Per Johansson broke his contract with the club Rostov-Don.
