The Mansour bin Zayed Cup horse race begins in Sharjah tomorrow

Tomorrow, the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, in cooperation with the Emirates Racing Authority, will organize the HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Cup race - the fourth race of the Sharjah Longines Track for the season 2021/2022 at the Sharjah Longines Track in the club under the auspices of the Sharjah Sports Council, Sharjah Horse Hospital, Al Marwan Group Holding and Stud Eye.

Participating in the race - which consists of 6 runs of different distances and levels - 83 horses of purebred Arabian horses, horses of local production and purebred hybrid horses, with 8 horses in reserve, with prizes totaling 310 thousand dirhams.

The race begins with the first run, which is presented by Al-Marwan Holding Group and is dedicated to purebred Arabian horses of 4-5 years of age and older than the UAE production for a distance of 1200m, with prizes of up to 40 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 16 horses, with 4 on the reserve.

As for the second half, it is presented by the Sharjah Equine Hospital and is dedicated to purebred Arabian horses novices, generating the Emirates at the age of only four years, for a distance of 1000 meters and prizes of up to 40 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 12 horses.

The third race, which is also presented by the Al Marwan Holding Group, was allocated for purebred Arabian horses aged 4 years and older - equivalence within the classification for a distance of 1700 meters. The prizes for this race were 40 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 16 horses.

While the fourth round is dedicated to the Emirates Cup for Producers, which is presented by Al Ain Stud for purebred Arabian horses. In this race, the participating horses must be produced by the owner. The race comes with a parity system within the classification for a distance of 1700 m and its prizes amount to 50 thousand dirhams with the participation of 12 horses.

The fifth round is the H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Cup, which is presented by the Sharjah Sports Council and is dedicated to purebred Arabian horses, produced by the UAE, rated at 4 and 5 years of age, for a distance of 1200m, and its prizes are 100 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 11 horses.

The race concludes with the sixth race presented by Sharjah Equine Hospital, which is an equalization race for purebred and hybrid horses aged 3 years and above for a distance of 1200m. It is an equal race and its prizes amount to 40 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 16 horses, with 4 horses in reserve.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, stressed the importance of supporting the local production of horses, as well as the Arabian horse, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
