Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan arrived at dawn today, Tuesday, in the United Arab Emirates, on an official visit as part of a tour that includes Egypt.

Upon his arrival at Dubai International Airport, Erdogan was received by the UAE Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Turkish Ambassador to Abu Dhabi, Turgay Tuncer, and other officials.

Anatolia Agency reported that Erdogan will participate as a guest of honor in the World Government Summit being held in Dubai under the slogan “Foreseeing the Governments of the Future.”

Erdogan is expected to meet with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and will also hold meetings with leaders of countries participating in the summit.

Erdogan is accompanied on his visit by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Alp Arslan Bayraktar, Treasury and Finance Mehmet Simsek, Defense Yasar Guler, Health Fahrettin Koca, Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kaçer, and Trade Omer Polat.

The Turkish presidency announced yesterday, Monday, that Erdogan would visit Egypt on Wednesday at the invitation of his Egyptian counterpart, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Erdogan said in a speech broadcast on Turkish television yesterday, Monday, that the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip will top the agenda of his talks with his Egyptian counterpart on Wednesday, and added, “We will discuss various issues, including the economy, trade, tourism, energy, and defense, with Mr. Sisi.”

Erdogan's visit tomorrow will be his first visit to Egypt since Ankara and Cairo raised the level of their relations by appointing two ambassadors last year.
