Kalmar received Halmstad with the hope of building on a nice little victory suite.

After an impressive 2-1 victory away against Norrköping in the last round, they had the chance to take their third straight three-pointer, at home against Halmstad.

And it started well.

Already in the eighth minute, Jonathan Ring got the ball at the penalty area line.

The team captain managed the situation in the best way by placing 1-0 next to the post.

But Halmstad is difficult to defeat.

In the last nine Allsvenskan matches before the meeting with Kalmar, they had only one loss - and the disadvantage would be picked up just before the break.

Mikael Boman did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.

However, the striker took advantage of his own return and put the equalizer in the net.

Both teams did their part to try to take the lead in the second half.

Halmstad's Marcus Antonsson had a shot close outside with a quarter left and Kalmar had some dangerous situations in extra time - but 1-1 the match stood out.

- In others, it will be a little more back and forth.

We probably have the best chances, but a cross is perhaps fair, says Kalmar's Carl Gustafsson to Discovery.

- We still create many dangerous situations.

There is potential to score goals and we have a chance to decide.

It's an even match.

Kalmar plays good ball and we are well placed as well.

It was even from that perspective, says Halmstad's Erik Ahlstrand.
