An Egyptian university raises controversy over the death of the star Zamalek Bin Sharqi

The Egyptian University of Sohag sparked controversy on social media after it posted a hypothetical question about the death of the star of Zamalek, Moroccan Ashraf Bin Sharqi.


According to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, a professor of the Faculty of Law, who is delegated to Sohag University, published an examination for the fourth division of the subject of private international law, including a hypothetical question about the death of Zamalek player Ashraf bin Sharqi.



She indicated that the Assiut University administration referred this incident to the investigation upon the arrival of an official complaint from Sohag University, to estimate the size of the violation and to impose the appropriate penalty on the owner.



For his part, the Minister of Higher Education and Higher Research, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, directed the referral of the professor of law at Assiut University assigned to Sohag University to teach the course on “private international law” for urgent investigation, and to suspend him from work until the end of the investigation and inform him of the results of the investigation as soon as possible, due to the introduction of The name of a professional player in an Egyptian club and his personal life in a question about the private international law exam, which students of the fourth year performed, on Tuesday, during the first semester exams for the academic year 2020-2021 at Sohag University.



The newspaper indicated that the minister made a phone call to the player whose name was mentioned in the exam, and expressed to him the ministry’s dissatisfaction with this wrong individual behavior, which does not reflect the masses of the academic and university community, affirming the ministry’s appreciation and full respect for all Egyptian sports clubs and their fans, and its pride in all professional players in their second country Egypt.
