The 11-time African champion (a record) suffers from influential absences, most notably his captain and goalkeeper, Mohamed El-Shenawy, who is injured in the shoulder, defender Yasser Ibrahim, who suffers from a tear in the posterior muscle in his thigh, Malian Aliou Dieng after knee surgery, and Palestinian striker Wissam Abu Ali, who suffers from a strain in the posterior muscle.

Top scorer Mahmoud Abdel Moneim (Kahraba) returns to the defending champion's list, after being absent from the last 3 matches by decision of Kohler, following his apology for traveling to Ghana in the African Champions League due to his connection with his sister's wedding.

Midfielder Emam Ashour will also be scheduled to face his former club, Zamalek, for the first time.

Kohler has achieved most of the possible championships since he took over the job in the summer of 2022, as he won the African Champions League, a bronze medal in the Club World Cup, and the league, cup and super titles in Egypt.
