Six children were injured as a result of the shelling of Lugansk by Ukrainian armed formations. "The wounding of children is our common pain. The cynical crime of the Kyiv regime will not go unpunished! We will make every effort for the speedy recovery of young residents," he wrote in his Telegram channel.
In turn, State Duma deputy Viktor Vodolatsky called the Ukrainian missile attack on a peaceful city despicable.
"Where civilians with children walked, where people were at work, there was a duty shift and, of course, no one expected that these Ukrofascists would act so vilely, so disgustingly," he said on the air of Lugansk 24.

The attack on Lugansk occurred on the evening of May 12 at about 18:30 Moscow time. The Armed Forces of Ukraine used two cruise missiles. The administrative buildings of the Polipak and Milam enterprises were destroyed and damaged, and windows in six residential buildings were also broken.
"According to updated information, on May 12, 2023, during a rocket attack on Luhansk, the armed formations of Ukraine used two Storm Shadow cruise missiles (Anglo-French production) and one ADM-160B MALD air defense missile (made in the United States)," the JCCC said.

RIA Novosti, citing a source, reported that an American-made drone was found in the courtyard of a house near the central square of Lugansk.
"According to eyewitnesses, the drone fell after a collision with a house shortly before the missile strike," the agency's interlocutor explained.

Along with this, over the past day in the Donetsk People's Republic, as a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two civilians were killed, ten more people, including two children, were injured. This was reported in the representative office of the DPR in the JCCC.
"Over the past day, information was received about the death of two civilians in the Kiev and Petrovsky districts of Donetsk. Ten civilians, including two children born in 2015 and 2016, were injured of varying degrees of severity in the Kuibyshev and Kirovsky districts of Donetsk, Aleksandrovka, Yenakiieve and the previously liberated Staromlinovka, Ivanovka and Staromayorsky," the report says.
In total, over the past 24 hours, 54 shelling by the Ukrainian military was recorded in the DPR, which used 288 units of ammunition from Grad installations, artillery of 155, 152 mm. Nine settlements came under fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Gorlovka, Golmovsky, Yasinovataya, Donetsk, Makeyevka, Staromayorskoye, Staromlinovka, Blagodatnoye, Vladimirovka.
