A Palestinian was killed after being run over in the West Bank

The Israeli army announced Wednesday that a Palestinian attacker was shot dead by the Israeli army after he carried out a run-over operation during which he seriously wounded an Israeli soldier in the West Bank.

The Israeli army said that it "immobilized" the man who carried out the attack on the "Bel" checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Beit Ur al-Tahta and Beit Ur al-Fuqa, west of Ramallah, and between the settlement of Beit Horon and the Israeli town of Modi'in.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that it had been notified by the military liaison that the Palestinian who was shot dead by the Israeli army was Habas Yousef Rayan (54 years), from the nearby village of Beit Duqo.

The Israeli army said, "The attacker got out of his car with an axe to attack the soldier who shot him. The soldier was seriously wounded and taken to hospital."
